I know they announced that McCoy and Sulu would only be in the finale for season 5 but I wouldn’t put it past them to have them show up in this episode. Hell Kirk was announced for season 2 but ended up showing up in the last episode of season 1.
Yeah, if they’re sending Uhura forward in time as the trailers have suggested, it would be the perfect opportunity to introduce them without actually introducing them.
Thats the hope. And c’mon why get a high profile actor like Thomas Jane for just one episode. I dont buy it, but its also copium cuz I love me some Thomas Jane “doors and corners”
Let’s hope it’s not yet another gimmick episode. I’ve skipped more this series than the others combined.
It’s such a frustrating show. Even when they come up with a compelling premise it’s always compromised by aggressively mediocre writing.
I really didn’t mind them although I can see the density of them might grate considering the short run of episodes. It’s not like TOS had some very campy episodes.
I really looked forward to the comedy X-Files episodes but there was never more than one a season and that was an old school 26 episode run.
This should be another normal episode. That makes 3 normal episodes this season. Mars, Badmiral and the yesterday’s enterprise inspired finale.
Then there was the countdown, ghost ship and underground resistance episodes. These three tow the line but at least the themes weren’t shoehorned into the stories. Instead they added to the narrative.
Personally I felt the gimmick episodes this season were the hangover, puppets, soap opera and fairy tale episodes. Too many gimmicks honestly, but at least more than half could be defined as classic trek.
I’ve read season 5 won’t have any because they want to wrap things up with that iny 6 episode order. I will be cautiously optimistic.
