Halo Infinite was noticeably missing from the recent Xbox showcase, so Xbox head Phil Spencer clarified why that was.
I don’t give two fucks about Halo but yeah, that’s a weird-ass reason.
Halo is pretty much dead. They have an update coming out this week, but after that I wouldn’t be surprised if Infinite never gets updated again. And I’m also predicting that project Tatanka is going to get canceled. I hope I’m wrong, but that’s where my expectations are right now.
It’s still the 26th most played game on Xbox in the U.S., so I sincerely doubt they’re going to just kill the franchise after finally replacing 343’s management. Like, that’s more players than Sea of Thieves and SoT is even getting cross-promotional deals with Pirates of the Caribbean and Monkey Island.
I can’t believe how badly they dropped the ball on Halo. Gameplay is great but wheres the content?
I might be in the minority, but I really liked Halo: Infinite. The controls felt so good. The problem to me was that nothing was keeping me in Halo. I’m mostly a single player gamer and there were other fun games to check out. But if any of my friends said “wanna play some Halo?” I would definitely play
I think you’ve summarized the biggest problem with Halo currently. Even if you enjoy the game, its one if those games you play for a while, maybe beat the campaign and then move into other games.
It just doesn’t feel like a flagship title anymore. And if it wasn’t for the Halo name it would be even more forgettable then it is now.
