At the moment I follow the @[email protected] bot, but it reposts every single reply to every single thread, which is a bit much.
In the end, I just took @[email protected]’s advice and have accounts on both
I probably didn’t explain properly, I was looking for a mastodon account to follow that posts on mastodon only when a new thread is started on the website here. Looks like @[email protected] is what I’m looking for, as the @[email protected] one posts on mastodon every single time a reply is made on the website.
We do operate that account, but we really only use it to highlight the “main event” posts, rather than every single post.
Cool. My Mastodon account is on that instance, but I created it after the one here. See you there.
You can follow individual communities as if they were people on Mastodon. Underneath the hood, communities are essentially bots that boost people’s posts to aggregate them into a single feed.
You’re not following a bot, you’re literally following this community. That’s why you see everything. Lemmy and Mastodon are connected.
