          There’s definitely extensive documentation…

Actually now that you mention it I don’t think I’ve ever seen Ferengi R34.

Gene Roddenberry invented Ferengi for R34.

One influence on the Ferengi was what Herb Wright described as Gene Roddenberry’s “sex fetish.” In early first season discussions between them about developing the Ferengi, Roddenberry let Wright know it was his intention to make the species well-endowed. “He wanted to put a gigantic codpiece on the Ferengi,” Wright stated. “He spent 25 minutes explaining to me all the sexual positions the Ferengi could go through. I finally said, 'Gene, this is a family show, on at 7:00 on Saturdays. He finally said, ‘Okay, you’re right.’” (Cinefantastique, Vol. 23, No. 2/3, pp. 60-61) With Roddenberry’s approval, the development of the new species got underway. (Star Trek: The Next Generation 365, p. 36)

              gigantic codpiece on the Ferengi

it was worth it just for that, but it’s all gold… i love Roddenberry even more…

damnit we’ll never see Quark in all his glory that was meant to be… and just imagine Nog running around with a giant cock that he can’t control… that could have been an entire season…

I don’t think Garek would ever truly get drunk. He might pretend to be drunk to excuse certain behaviors or comments, but Garek values control of himself and the situation far too much to engage in drunkenness.

or so that you felt comfortable enough to get drunk… yeah he’s probably pretty good at pretending to be drunk, isn’t he…

You’re in for a good ride. Hope you enjoy!

My first watchthrough, I was a little bummed that they wouldn’t be flying around the galaxy encountering strange planets like in previous series, but then I quickly started to appreciate the “slice of life” feel of the show taking place in a fixed position.

Plus, they’re like a space truck stop, so they can still have whatever characters they want stop by for an episode or two. It’s great.

Upvoted for the Garak and Bashir interaction.

I had that damn song stuck in my head for two full weeks after the movie came out. I seriously thought I was finally going insane in my old age.
