Uhura’s response, “sorry, neither,” is to the other meanings of those words. She is saying that she is neither fair—“pale-skinned”—nor a maiden—a “virgin.”

They didn’t say they had to dig deep.

I’m struggling to think why this would be a thing. The only guess I have is someone was told to enforce “no dictionary words in a password” and saw that as an ‘easier’ way to implement?
