Strange New Worlds had been pretty consistent. I don’t mind the occasional flub, it’s better to go out on a limb occasionally than play it totally safe.

I saw somewhere that the actor improved that line which means he blurted it out with Riker standing right there which feels totally in line with the tone of the episode they were shooting. It’s funny to me on so many levels.
I came in here annoyed at them gaming the system and you totally turned my perspective around on it. Makes perfect sense.
I feel like he fits the like… platonic ideal of Kirk, but he’s not doing a William Shatner impression the same way that Peck is doing a Leonard Nimoy impression.
He’s doing his own interpretation of the same character on the page.
I legit thought it was Cara Gee for the first few scenes she was in.
Yeah, it could be at 14%! D:
I’m not saying it should be illegal to release games for only one console. Obviously not every studio is going to have the bandwidth to develop for every platform, and some games will use special features of some systems.
What I’m saying is that it should be illegal for console makers to give any special incentives or preference to developers to do so artificially.
Console exclusives are anti consumer and it should be illegal for console makers to offer any incentive to developers – including studios they own – to make a game exclusive.
Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk
The Final Architecture series by Adrian Tchaikovsky uses artificial gravity as the basis for almost all its tech.
Teleporters are interesting because when you think about it long enough, you realize the person on departure end died.
You think about it more… and if the person that comes out the arrival end is an exact replica – down to the atom – and, further, has internal continuity of experience… You realize that if you accept they died then you kind of also have to accept that the “you” of any given instant is constantly dying and giving way to the “you” of the next instant. That person living that experience at that exact moment will never exist again; they’re dead.
So you’re kinda back to transporters being business as usual again, but with a fun new existential crisis on the side.
Oh I see. I misunderstood the comment then. Thanks for the clarification!
Not that this isn’t scummy but my understanding is that “ransomware” refers to software that locks a user or organization out of their systems until a fee is paid, generally my encrypting the disk.
This seems like a more traditional “hack” of a system where you get in and download data. Which makes threatening them is traditional blackmail.
Yeah, I have my tab key set up to insert spaces. I meant the characters being used, not the key used to write them.
To try and be charitable to the WPT mods: that sub is a magnet for bots and bad actors. All those measures sound like a shotgun approach to combating spam to me.
I really don’t envy having to moderate a large politically oriented sub like that. I imagine it burns you out fast to being open and fair-minded in how you approach moderation due to the sheer avalanche of bullshit you’re confronted with cleaning up.
Wait. Are tabs used more often in modern stuff? Almost everything I use does spaces and I’m not that new to programming. Been doing it for maybe 5 years. I use spaces in everything but Go.
I think you mean shudder. Unless the code you wrote is running on cameras.
Did it? Can I skip whatever the bad Seasons were and have it still make sense. Picard was always my favorite captain so I was super bummed when I heard the show was super jaded / gritty / bad.
