That’s how I got started. Followed their guides through TNG, DS9, and VOY and was not disappointed

Edit: looks like it’s at least partially open source, maybe fully. It’s centrally-hosted and funded by ads, premium subscriptions, and some sort of crypto scheme that can boost a video’s discoverability. I’ve actually heard of some of the creators though (unlike PeerTube), so that’s interesting
Fair point. I watch a lot of YT and block ads (though it sounds like they’re finally cracking down on that). I support some creators on Nebula and Patreon, but I guess YT Premium is basically like those.

Speaking of, got any good peertube channels? Tbh, I’m more familiar with nebula and floatplane - where YT creators made their own platform. Maybe that’s where things are headed
According to this you can even follow a peertube channel from Lemmy, though I haven’t been able to get that to work from either side. Curious if anyone else has?
I use Joplin and sync the notes between devices (including Android) with Syncthing. There’s lots of other options for syncing, but I already had Syncthing set up and liked it
I removed Edge and IE on my work computer and the only time I had trouble was when I tried to open the built-in manual in some non-Microsoft software and it failed.
I think it used some embedded browser component that Edge or IE provides
