Yeah, as I said, I use an Xbox one controller with a USB C cable. My PC has a USB C port so I just use C to C. I just wish there was a permanently wired official version of the controller that did away with the huge battery compartment on the back :)

I don’t care about colours or AA batteries, I’d rather have a cable personally, I do agree on the choice though.

Anything from the 360 onwards are my preferred controllers. A permanently wired 360 controller that does away with the massive battery compartment it my favourite but these days I use an “Xbox one” version with the USB C cable.

Seen as you decided to add an edit that you were returning to Duolingo, what exactly is your goal because it certainly isn’t to effective learn any language.

6 months ago you asked Lemmy for more effective alternatives to Duolingo and people gave you lots of alternatives that are a lot more effective including myself recommending Busuu and others recommending language transfer, both of which piss all over Duolingo which is utter trash.

There is a test before this one that OP would have completed. This tests for the proficiency of the unit you have just completed and is necessary to then advance onto the more advanced levels.

The test in the picture is an additional one for some kind of busuu certificate, I don’t know if it counts as official accreditation but I doubt it very much.

Not paying doesn’t hinder your progress at all and you miss nothing from not doing this silly certificate test at all other than like you say so e-peen waving I guess?

I learn Spanish to speak it with my gf and busuu has been amazing when compared to shit like Duolingo that doesn’t teach you anything usable at all so this shade being thrown based on some stupid certificate is totally unjustified.

I haven’t played 1 or 2 personally but would echo what is being said here for the rest.

I played p4g first and fell in love with it. P3P is pretty similar really but with slightly less QoL things going on but I don’t find it too much of a downgrade to be honest.

Either way each one has its own story then with similarities like in spell names and the like, similar to how final fantasy is.

I enjoyed Metal Gear Ac!d games which were a sort of card game / turn based spin off in the metal gear world.

I’m currently playing Persona 3 Portable so if you are into those kind of games it is pretty great.

I think someone else mentioned it but Valkyria Chronicles is worth checking out, another turn based delight.

There are literally 10’s of us that still desire a physical keyboard on a phone.

The blackberry keytwo was the best phone I have ever owned but it is too outdated now to carry on using :(

I have had a more in depth look at it since making my previous post. It isn’t like it is completely beyond me, I understand what is going on in the instructions but the main thing I am worried about is that I have very very limited experience soldering things and what I have done before hasn’t exactly been great work so I’m not sure I would be able to do a good job on the small stuff that is involved here.

It would be a good learning process though and like you say I could employ some help from various different places.

Do you have a sort of roundabout figure in terms of cost for all the parts? Just to give me an idea of how much they buy in for the project would be before I started fucking stuff up? XD

The problem with Linux based phones is they are just not feasible as a daily driver device right now. Once they are I would happily jump ship over to them but I currently make my life hard enough as it is trying to reject this current trend of having a bullshit app for everything that I don’t need to make it any harder right now xD

I’d still be interested in checking out the projects if you have any names of devices I can look up.

The only other production device I know of is the fx tec pro but all of the different reviews and such I have searched out for them aren’t super positive so I’ve never bothered getting one to try out.

I fucking hate touchscreens. I have been someone who buys devices with physical keyboards whenever I can and the best phone j have owned in more recent years was the blackberry key two, that phone was fucking awesome but it has got to the point now where there are no longer any good options.

I had a unithertz titan until recently but just got tired of things just not quite working as they should on it. There in the unihertz titan slim which is the same form factor as the keytwo so I feel would be physically great but the software side is just going to be more of the same I had with the regular titan.

I wish there was a decent option. I backed the planet computers astroslide as that looked decent but those cunts fucked over backers, delivered a few devices and have now fucked off not fulfilling all backers devices. That is my first and last forray into crowdfunded bullshit.

Doubt you’ll get a reply because it is bullshit. I’m not a fan of Epic within the games space and they may not have improved things like the Bandcamp app but to say that it has “gone to shit” under them is just straight idiocy. More accurately they have done nothing to or with band camp really.

I have tried dual booting in the past but it becomes a pita for me as usually the majority of my time spent on a computer is using those things that only worked within windows so why change back just to say browse the web for example.

In the past it was games that were a pain to run but I haven’t tried it in the last 3 years or so and know that it has gotten a lot better with the advent of steam giving a shit about Linux more so due in no small part I’m sure of the steam deck.

The problem with virtual machines or WINE or whatever is the current standard for emulating a windows environment is that one application depends heavily on audio latency. It needs to run well and provide as close to zero latency as possible. Like I’ve said in a few other replies, maybe it is time I tried it out again as it has been a few years since I gave switching over a go, I need to have the time to put into getting it up and running and fixing any problems that arise however :D

I have done this with both traktor and serato and got similar responses from both along the lines of “we will suggest it to our tech dept, thanks”

When I tried it last I had problems fully mapping my controller in a way that it worked as expected as well as effects not being as good and overall functionality and work flow not being as smooth as polished as I’ve been used to using serato and then traktor.

It has been a while since I tried it though so maybe I should give it another bash and see how it has improved over the years.

How is the library management? That is one thing traitor fucking sucks at!

I would use Linux if my primary reasons for using a computer worked properly. Games are a lot better these days than it was and always improving so there is light at the end of the tunnel in that respect but Traktor DJ software not so much.

As far as I know the only alternative on Linux is mixxx and that was just no where near as good the last time I used it. Maybe it is time to try it again…

Meh, for not very much a month I can pay for premium Spotify and rip 320 mp3s to my hearts content, for anything that is more obscure or just not released on Spotify I buy through bandcamp. I used to buy a lot more but being much poorer now I’m going to take advantage of saving so much money and still being able to have files that I can hold on to and use how I like.
