I don’t remember actually doing tips as a percentage back when I lived in Latvia, it was usually that you took the bills and left any coins, maybe added some on top if there weren’t many.
So probably 10% at most but still basically what I made per hour as a warehouse worker
AFAIK the built-in translator doesn’t support Japanese, which is 99% of translation I need and the extension (which is what is was trying to use before) either requires you to select the text that you want to translate one-by-one or run the whole page through translate.google.com, which doesn’t work with any page that requires an account to access or triggers ddos protection on some others.
The problem for me is that the built-in translator is too convenient
spookex@lemmy.worldto Mildly Infuriating@lemmy.world•I wonder why people litter in the USA?English11·7 months agoFunnily enough that’s where I find most of the litter in Japan, like, if you go to any non-main road that goes through a bit of forest, you will see signs threatening fines for littering, with a bunch of trash tossed in that exact area.
I have seen cans, bottles, ACs, TVs, baby car seats, bags, and general household trash. Also found a golf club once that I actually brought home because I thought that it was neat. And this is only along a single stretch of road that is only like 1km long.
So Japan isn’t some miracle society that doesn’t litter, it’s just that they do it someplace that is somewhat out of sight.

I just support the fundamental rule that was taught to me in one of those internet safety PSAs back in the day: The internet never forgets and whatever you posted is going to stay out there forever, good or bad.
Idk, my Xiaomi mi mix 3 5g, that I bought straight from China, around 2019ish has a toggle for the AI face filter.
Tried it once and turned it off straight away because how weird it was
I had a Sharp SH-03L for a while, it’s a business version of one of their flip phones that didn’t even have a camera.
The OS was actually android 8.0 but really stripped down to basically only do the whatever apps a flip phone has.
I was able to sideload apks through ADB, but ironically, I actually wanted the google stuff to work since a lot of the apps required it to log in and other things.
The thing was pretty cheap though, paid like $15 for it
