IDW did Kelvin timeline comics during and for years after the period when those movies were a current concern, so I imagine this isn’t outside the realm of possibility (assuming they keep hold of the license.)

For those unfamiliar, this sketch was from a Star Trek 30th anniversary TV special from 1996 featuring the cast of Frasier in character. If I remember correctly Kelsey Grammer himself was supposed to be the captain, but he bowed out at the last minute and Kate Mulgrew stepped in to fill the role.

This would be the same continuity in which magic villain blood is found to be the cure for actual death, and they use it once and then never speak of it again.

That’s also how it works in the recent game where you replay Voyager’s journey. You just have your engineers research photon torpedo building, and then doing so uses up a portion of your normal tech resources.

Beating your neighbors unconscious, removing their clothes, and putting them on yourself “can be part of the process” of getting dressed, but people would call you a jerk for doing that instead of getting your own clothes.

The “creator.”

I’m showing my wife TNG in order and we just did that one yesterday. She was underwhelmed by the ultimate energy-being evolution of that species being a guy in a lycra bodysuit with visible seams.

Gracie is pregnant.

The game wasn’t too bad for what it was, but since the start it’s been fairly riddled with bugs and glitches that were never addressed. They also wired in a “your choices” system that players were meant to be able to use to match the choices they made against those of other players, but it was broken from the start and the website needed for that to work soon disappeared.

The company posted the game and pretty much abandoned it soon after, and just two years later it’s being withdrawn from sale and any new player who wants it will have to pirate it.

This game had the potential to be so much better, and could even have kicked off a series of new Trek stories in the classic Telltale style, but the company really failed at making it happen.

There’s a quote from Nichelle Nichols’ 1994 autobiography Beyond Uhura: Star Trek and Other Memories which pops up a lot in discussions about the TOS skirts:

In later years, especially as the women’s movement took hold in the seventies, people began to ask me about my costume. Some thought it “demeaning” for a woman in the command crew to be dressed so sexily. It always surprised me because I never saw it that way. After all, the show was created in the age of the miniskirt, and the crew women’s uniforms were very comfortable. Contrary to what many may think today, no one really saw it as demeaning back then. In fact, the miniskirt was a symbol of sexual liberation. More to the point, though, in the twenty-third century, you are respected for your abilities regardless of what you do or do not wear.

Somebody rich please buy the bridge and send it to James Cawley.

IMDb star ratings are like newspaper horoscopes. They can be fun to look at for a little laugh, but you can pretty much ignore them entirely and live a very good life.

“Please state the nature of the acting emergency.”

Nah, all those dancing swimsuit ladies are of legal age.

Totally agree! This artist uses all sorts of action figures from all sorts of pop culture things in this comic, and his 3D-printing game for his scenery and stuff is definitely worth recognizing.
