Lol oh I never said it’s a good solution. The worst part isn’t running IIS, it’s running IIS on a domain controller. The better option is using a different domain for AD than your web domain, as long as it’s a publicly registered domain for certificate purposes.
Hilariously, I bet it’s because their Active Directory domain is the same as their public domain, and it becomes a massive pain in the ass to hostname the root domain. Yes, externally you can do it just fine, but then it’s not consistent internally on their private network.
One solution is you run IIS (or any other web server) purely as a permanent redirect for the internal host, but it would then need to run on each domain controller which brings its own set of issues.
Report it to spamcop.net and/or dnsbl.info so they actually get thrown into email blacklists.
Yeah, I’m not a novice to Linux in general, but it was my first time using Arch. Was testing it out after many years of admin of Ubuntu servers and then trying OpenSUSE for gaming. I don’t think I could ever leave Arch now, it’s just so easy to maintain and I finally get the hype.
I found out about 2 months ago I had a dead stick because of my Arch install. I kept having data integrity problems and thought my NVMe was dying. And then the other drive was having the same issues. I had reinstalled Arch so many times during this that I memorized ALL the steps from start to end. I really wish I had tested RAM earlier, but was so determined to believe it was the drives.
Right? Always make personal accounts tied to completely independent email accounts. Never ISP, work, or school email accounts. It makes it hell to deal with if you want to switch providers, quit or get fired, or graduate. It’ll take weeks to get into all your old shit.
More like 135°.
Yeah, how dare you use one of the oldest, most widely accepted forms of online payment, right?
I remember all the victim blaming back around 2010-2011 when PayPal users were getting banned on Steam because of random payment holds PayPal was conducting. They’ve done some really shady things over the last couple decades.
I just always do it out of habit when I number movies because of the rare possibility of a series going into double digits. Obviously I wouldn’t need to ever worry about it with LOTR or anything that is definitely over, but regardless it’s not painful to go back and edit.
Edit: also I’ve considered switching to Jellyfin myself, but I’ve had a Plex Lifetime membership since line 2014 and as annoying as they sometimes are about emailing me, I do like the polish it has.
Yeah it’s not the end-all-be-all solution for sure, but it helps for a large majority of movie series. I also use Plex Meta Manager to automatically create collections nightly for series, actors, genres, and even a handful of playlists.
Edit: and to add onto your example of Bond, yeah I just make that a playlist because it’d be way too confusing for me and most people who watching from my server.
Even better, you can do it by editing the “sort title” so even in the library they show up in the order you prefer. So in this case I’d change them to be “Saw 01” through “Saw 10” and I won’t have to mess with a different view for those circumstances. I do need to go back through and edit a handful more of my movies because I’ve slacked off lately.
Agreed, uninstall one of them and don’t look back. I have moments I need some tech reference that I saved over the years on Reddit, but I don’t go looking for new content.
My biggest problem with the space is that if I had to sit with my legs out like that, I’d eventually cramp up and inevitably bang my knees on the chair above.
Hey, I just hit 18 months, almost to the day! …but was at the previous job 23 years lol. Good to know I’m back to old timer status.
Everything got some nods and hard nose exhales, the last got a real lol
Theseus who? I only know tHESEUS.
