The first half of the first page is all ads now on Google. It’s utter shit - the things it’s a lot better at than DDG is NLP, being able to understand questions, and anything news related. If you know exactly what you’re searching for though, using the old style of search words works great on DDG

For Frigate especially, you are going to want to use multiple Coral TPUs to handle inferencing. I really can’t speak to the CPU requirements but I know a lot of people like using the Intel NUCs with mic tier processors.

Any comment re:tracking that others have raised ITT and any plans to open the source code? Loving the UI thus far but like others here would very much prefer FOSS applications
I wish I had data that could fit on an SD card - I too don’t have off-site backups mostly due to expense. I have one other friend that is into homelabbing but for us to each backup on each other’s hardware would be ~$2k/each. Probably more on his end because I believe he’s using a consumer NAS without the room for additional expansion whereas I have a 25 bay commercial setup that’s only 1/5 populated at the moment
It’s always been Adobe’s approach, get em hooked, snuff out competition (or just straight up acquire them), push educators toward materials that are software specific instead of more vague, then push for sales and sue firms using bootleg versions.
After using Figma a fair bit at work and Penpot at home, man the Penpot team is really doing some cool work that I can see rivalling Figma in no time
Dead simple to run via docker compose too. I got it up and running with LDAP in less than an hour
APC is nice in an enterprise-like setup and the management software is really mature. That said, you don’t get much for your money and for a homelab, I’ve been happy with my Tripplite UPS which was about half the cost. I got the expansion battery as well and the whole setup cost me less than $700
