Commercial realestste makes up a significant amount of rich people’s investment portfolios. And if people stopped needing office space the property would devalue and those rich people would lose easy money.

So they have all collectively agreed to force their workers back to the office I order to keep the real estate values up and keep their investments positive.

You made the first comment mate. Of course people are going to br dismissive of you when you start off acting like an asshole.

And honestly getting clowned on for being an asshole isn’t bullying, and crying about it is only going to make you look like even more of an asshole.

    This comment is very telling.

The whole “it used to be other nerds (read as social awkward straight men) until you guys came along” narrative just shows you have an “us vs them” mentality about the whole thing.

And my guy, you’re the one being an asshole here.

  • Yeah no shit if you go to the communist instance and say communists are just as bad as nazis, you’re gonna get banned. You even admit to doing this specifically to get banned in your own comment.

Like even though I’m a socialist, I think the guys at lemmy.ml are a bunch of nutjob tankies, but banning people that come to their instance just to be a troll, insult people and purposefully try to get banned isn’t actually a bad thing.

  • The whole base load situation is largely over hyped, as a diverse and slightly overbuilt network of renewable would compensate for fluctuations with minimal storage needed. Iirc you would just need 118% capacity with a 2 hour storage buffer to achieve stability rates on par with a traditional grid. And nuclears small footprint actually hinders it when filling a base load requirement, as nuclear provides a lot of power at a single location, but if you want to base load a national grid you want a little power at lots of locations. (Which can be argued that SMRs will fill that role, but that’s a whole other argument)
