Worf in particular can be stubborn and traditional. Jadzia is anything but. It is a source of conflict in their relationship.
I watched DS9 and learned a little about empathy, honor, duty, peaceful reconciliation, fitting in (Odo), friendship, etc… It seems those messages didn’t resonate with you at all.

I’ll be the crazy one and say Star Trek Voyager. Lots of insane moments and more creative freedom in the Delta Quadrant. You don’t have to learn decades of lore. Janeway is the craziest captain you will have with the exception of Marriner.
You don’t turn down a role on Star Trek, much less playing a villain.
