So just swap new drives in one at a time, after backing your data up just in case. I upgraded mine to 4x10 drives 3-4 years ago, and its painless as long as you wait for the resilvering process to complete.

I’ve used gpt 3/3.5, bing, bard and copilot, and I’m not super stoked. Copilot gave me PS DSC items that don’t actually exist, which was my most recent attempt at using a LLM.
I might see about figuring out if it can hook into my vs code instance so it’s a bit smarter at some point.
and a bunch of it is code generation to test out how we need to modify our CS curriculum in light of these new tools.
I’m curious if you’ve gotten anything decent out of them. I’ve tried to use it for tech/code questions, and it’s been nothing but disappointment after disappointment. I’ve tried to use it to get help with new concepts, but it hallucinates like crazy and always give me bad results, some of the time it’s so bad that it gives me answers I’ve already told it we’re wrong.
Unfortunately she’s got insomnia right now, so it’s extra special.
Thank you for the well wishes! She’s about 3 weeks out and is not happy about being limited now that she’s hit that fun part where people hurt themselves lol.
I can guess how maddening that is for you. One of my partners is recovering from a bilateral reduction, and she was lucky enough to be allergic to the pain meds, so she had to deal with her whole body itching for a few days before she just stopped taking them.
Hope the itching stops, you may be able to take Benadryl or something for the itching to make it more tolerable.
Ethernet is a layer 2 protocol, what does the layer 1 medium have to do with it?
Why do you expect people to take this seriously? A YouTuber advertising their merch in a place you had to go to to even see is the dumbest anti-youtube complain I have seen.
Agreed. I found my current gig on LinkedIn and got like an 80% raise a few years ago. I stay off it unless I need to go job hunting, and I have no complaints, but I treat it just like facebook and ignore the feed/random bullshit pushed to me.
No guarantees on pay, benefits, or work rules
Uuuhhhhhhh, isn’t that the current state and literally what unions are for? Setting guarantees for all that shit?
I’m still salty they cancelled it right as it was getting good.
I’ve got a couple of Amcrest cameras, which hook into a Home Assistant/Frigate/Double Take/CompreFace stack right now and it works really well to see my cameras offsite (HA). Add in the fact that I’ve got an NVR for looking over recent footage (Frigate) and facial recognition (still in training, just setup Double Take and CompreFace a few weeks ago) which can be configured to alert (HA) my phone, its a pretty sweet setup!
Do you actively use OneDrive? Sounds like it has a pesistence mechanism to help out less techie people so they don’t lose access to it (as an IT guy, I’ve seen that more often than I can count), so it may be better to disable the program rather than fighting OneDrive.
Out of curiosity, what settings are you seeing revert that quickly? That sounds like somehow you’ve got intune or something configured, and its periodically running a config resync.
Wholesalers squeezing buyers because they can.
Because capitalism means that you always have to keep making more money year over year even if you’re not doing anything more than you ever were. So sometimes the only way to do it is to squeeze your customers even harder.
I’ve heard really good things about Hover, that’s probably where I’m going to go once I get close to renwal
The cable pigs moved into the streaming game, and used licensing to enshitify streaming

Jumping a turnstile and taking a physical, actually scarce resource is not comparable to duplicating a digital, artificially scarce resource.
The train requires ongoing maintenance and can only hold a finite amount of people. Taking the train seat for free takes away something from another person. Downloading media does not use any ongoing resources, and does not take anything away from another consumer.
Comparing the morality of physical goods to digital goods are not really a good comparison specifically because of the artificial scarcity brought on by making something digital to try to make it more expensive doesn’t map to the real scarcity of physical goods.
