In my opinion SO has been replaced by forges discussions/issues. Whenever I have an issue with some library or piece of software, I will always check their repo to see if someone is going through the same thing or how they solved it.
When I tried to engage with SO it was a pain in the ass so I just stopped answering/asking.

Thank you for the reply! Do you mind sharing where you got the files from?
Did you print the parts yourself or you got them from somewhere else? I want to go 10’’ but it seems a little bit hard to find the parts I have in mind here in Canada

Taken from introduction
Then I joined their discord to see if people say it is fine playing on Firefox and found the developer saying the following:
I don’t understand people who use firefox
I think I will pass this one
Where is Disco Elysium on all these lists? 🤨
Blasphemous 2
I do not agree that the second is better than the first after playing one after another, but that might be because the way the store evolved made the bosses less interesting to me on the second game.

I remember they wrote “corrected grammar errors” and provided arguments and the PR got merged. Here is the PR. They even posted on Mastodon about it at the time.Edit: It seems now they require contributors to write documentation in gender-neutral language. However, the main dev still complains, to this day, how hard it is to run an OSS project while being “apolitical”.

T (they/she)@beehaw.orgto Programming@programming.dev•To people making shitty guides/tutorials.5·4 months agoIf you know what constitutes good code you probably won’t be browsing for tutorials. Tutorials, even the bad ones, are useful for beginners. If you aren’t a beginner, don’t look for them and you won’t be so pissed by it.
You talk like you are a professional, but professionals know where to look and where to not look for reliable information.
T (they/she)@beehaw.orgto Programming@programming.dev•To people making shitty guides/tutorials.3·4 months agoI avoid things from dev.to and Medium like the plague, unless I can’t find anything, anywhere else. However, something that’s shitty for you might not be shitty to someone else.
It will just get worse with all the AI slop. Read the docs first, always.

Please rate / roast it.3·4 months agoFirst thing I noticed is that your navbar links don’t behave like links. This might be related why reloading the page takes you to the main page. Are you using react-router? You might no be using it correctly
Is it normal to doxx yourself putting your address online these days? Isn’t it better to have the city you are located?
I wouldn’t link to all my social networks on my professional page, unless you are 100% sure you aren’t saying anything that might make the recruiter be biased.
Having a PDF like someone else mentioned! Resumes usually go past RH people and they are never willing to look more than 10 seconds for the information they need.
T (they/she)@beehaw.orgto Gaming@beehaw.org•The PlayStation Network outage proves PC gamers were right to resist its mandatory sign-in requirement3·4 months agoThe difference is that if you have your files you still can play the games if GoG goes under, while steam games will be unplayable because they need to communicate to steam (or have steam offline on your PC). I heard that steam drm is easy to remove but I don’t have much knowledge in that regard

T (they/she)@beehaw.orgto Gaming@beehaw.org•List of GOTY winners for the five major video game awards1·7 months agoI didn’t have a very polished experience at all with BG3, maybe because I played too close to the release date?
It was very frustrating to be honest, but at least they are still fixing the game
Which retard made that list
There are other ways of disagreeing with people
Very good read, thank you for sharing!
