  • Once again, Western countries and their vassals will always treat the symptom and not address the multitude of causes (because it leads directly back to them).

A society dumb enough to not read into how they’re being exploited but smart enough to build railroads and crunch numbers as an accountant is exactly the kind of society needed for bougies. So an 8 or 9 hour literal work shift for kids + homework + projects is the best they could offer, which isn’t exactly going to inspire confidence in students, so of course stimulus before, during and after class will be sought after if it means coping with this shit.

And the indigenous reclaiming or reappropriating words and phrases totally never happened in history, ever. “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free” is fundamentally different from “between the Sea and the Jordan there will only be Israeli sovereignty”. Notice how the Euroanglo-Zionazis never utter the former phrase.

Understand that the former phrase is more than just a reappropration to the latter, but a call for the liberation of indigenous land from occupation by settler-colonialists. It’s no dogwhistle, and it is very crystal clear what it means: not one inch for Euroanglo-Zionazis.

Likewise, it’s very crystal clear what Euroanglo-Zionazis mean with their Lebensraum ass phrase: total wipeout of indigenous land and its people in favor of Euroanglo-Zionazis.

  • Yep, pretty much, I didn’t feel like putting it into words, so thanks for this. I’d add that arguably, when students “play the game”, they get the same flack, or worse, than job applicants who exaggerate or straight up lie in their resume the same way companies lie about free unlimited PTOs, job security, a clear career ladder, etc.

Using morality or honesty as an argument against students who cheat is an attack on students, a distraction from the fact that this shit doesn’t work the way it was advertised actually, which has been internalized and normalized in many societies, left uncontested, which is big bad.

  • “I am often left with a choice between soliciting participation where students are merely the deadpan voice boxes of hallucinatory AI slop, or silence,” the Philadelphia teacher despaired. “Which am I supposed to choose?”

ChatGPT isn’t its own, unique problem. It’s a symptom of a totalizing cultural paradigm in which passive consumption and regurgitation of content becomes the status quo," Nathan Schmidt, a university lecturer and managing editor at Gamers With Glasses, told 404.

Seems to be easier to blame students for understandably responding to rote-practice, monotonous factory-work oriented slopfest curricula with slop, rather than actually addressing the core issue at hand.

  • On discussions around here about recommendations to alternative social media platforms and other digital services, there seems to be a growing presence of believers of European platforms, the platforms are vouched for not on the merit that the alternatives to US services themselves are good, functional and are independent of any state/private sector interests, but simply because the platforms are European, which is framed as “secure” and “sanitized” from any of that potential “bad stuff” we’ve witnessed (AI slop, helping the state to suppress activism, on one hand allowing freeze peach, which really just emboldens neonazis, on the other censors anything going against the interests of the West, etc).

I’m having difficulty to articulate this but… why move from one doghouse to another if all you cared about was the color of the roof?
