From my personal experiences, comfort. People will not do things if it’s a little new or different…

I’ve been trying to get my friend to drop unsecure channels… Like moving to anything other than their default chatting app but … That involve them installing the app and apparently that’s and insane ask. I got like few of my friends converted… But all were already tech savvy folks that didn’t find switching apps and issue.

I welcome this…I love my steam controllers so much and it’s crazy the revival in their form factor … people hated on the og so bad … Sure the learning curve is real but I use it for everything… Yes, TF2 included.

I cloud game (paperspace) and stream tv exclusively. It’s fine. 4k is a challenge but hvec and av1 are fantastic in those instances or I just rely on 1080p upscaled…which is passable. I sometimes get throttled from 4p to 6p but I don’t generally notice it.

Im aware, I’m specifically speaking about the log in process being simpler for most people on beeper vs matrix. I use beeper thru nheko, as you said it’s just matrix. But less work for the end user

Self host beeper… I love matrix but people struggle with maintaining a key and password … beeper simplifies this and has other chat protocols (bridges) that might entice normies.

And I think that’s a fair assessment for the general population… I love my pro and can daily drive it. I carry it everyday but my sim stays in my android ATM, only because my job requires me to not miss a single call and my one work area is already spotty with my android… Long story short my android lives in tethering. That said, when ever I have an excuse, my pro is my main phone. I love the experience… But I’ve been fucking around with Linux since like 2005. If you’re not already a Linux nerd, I don’t know if I can say it’s a good first foray into it…
