  • You may be surprised. I use Photoshop in my profession and I am desperately trying to move away from it. Not just because of the obvious Adobe is the worst, but it has been getting progressively worse to use for me. I don’t speak for everyone of course but at least for me there’s really only a few very small things that would make me switch instantly.

Photoshop just infuriates me lately, you’d think with all their employees they’d figure out how not to lose my hotkeys every automatic update, or that I’ve been using it for over a decade and don’t need annoying tutorial popups for every tool.

The priorities of a large company can often be opposed to making their software better, like adding AI into everything or adding new features nobody really needs so they can have a flashy presentation at some conference, or deprecating features in order to move people to their latest acquisitions program instead.

Blender is a great example of open source being totally viable for replacing commercial software. I use it professionally and it’s never been a limiting factor for me.

  • I have a vegan friend who eats pretty normally and does olympic weightlifting for fun, he’s pretty jacked. I couldn’t find anything to back up your ED claim, any sources?

Also sure, not everyone can eat like everyone else. But you’re telling everyone to make all their own food from scratch and if you’re doing that then a vegan diet is one of the most affordable ways to do it. I love cooking all my own meals from scratch and I just use vegies and mostly whole foods. and no you don’t need to spend every waking hour eating lentils, I usually don’t even eat lunch and I maintain my weight and muscle just fine. You can’t just make up stuff about vegan diets and pretend you’re right. It’s silly.

  • Did you know that before we bred sheep for wool they didn’t need to be shorn? Now if they escape they are likely to die because their wool gets too heavy for them to do anything. They also get castrated and have their tails docked and have mulesing done, almost always without anaesthetic. And Once the wool isn’t any good they get shipped off to be slaughtered for meat. Usually in bad conditions that cause many to die en route. Imagine any of those things being done to you and say you wouldn’t be a victim of something. I honestly don’t know how some people can be so confidently incorrect about something.

You like to consume animal products and you’re indifferent to their suffering for whatever reason, it’s ok, just stop pretending like anything else is the case.

  • I dislike that you used quotes to misrepresent what they said by making them sound like a cartoon caveman. Poor form.

Also I remember why I and, presumably, a lot of others moved to chrome in the first place. Firefox started getting really bloated and adding a bunch of default features that people either didn’t want or already used an extension for, the main selling point of firefox back then was extensions and customising your own browsing experience. Adding a first party ad blocker just seems like a waste of time when third party ones likely do a better job.

I get your point, though, I can definitely see why a default one might be a nice marketing note, but no need to be rude about someone disagreeing with your speculation.
