I barely use GIMP, but years ago I heard about it and gave it a go. It simultaneously opened three or four seemingly random windows and no actual workspace as far as I can tell. I immediately gave up. It wasn’t until recently that I had a reason to try again, and at this point I had forgotten the absurd situation I ran away from the first time. Luckily they’ve made some improvements since then. It’s still a bit obtuse, but I hear a big update is coming soon that might fix some of the UI issues?

It’s kinda a slur in the US in the sense that people claim it’s a slur, but I’ve never heard anyone actually use it that way.

A gimp is any of the following:

1. A cripple
2. A particular kind of BDSM role
3. Twisted silk, worsted, or cotton with cord or wire running through it, used chiefly as upholstery trimming.
4. (in lacemaking) coarser thread which forms the outline of the design in some techniques.
5. fishing line made of silk bound with wire.

I’ve seen a 36 inch 3-color one, but I can’t find the supplier anymore. It’s used for signage. I honestly don’t know why this isn’t a bigger thing for signage.

It’s one of those situations where corporations get to pull similar bullshit, so they think actual humans get to use the same tricks, too.

Eh I mean alphabet and Google do have legitimate reasons for antitrust lawsuits, but that’s independent of how shit Google search has become.

Anyway, for those who are fed up with the terrible results, use Ecosia. I’ve basically never needed to use anything else and the advertising money goes towards planting trees responsibly to rebuild ecosystems.

They’ve also got much better lifespans, being able to cycle many more times with less capacity loss. As they currently stand, they’re much better choices for stationary storage applications. However, I have seen them implemented in power tools and cars for their discharge rates, but it doesn’t hurt that they will stay healthy for longer.

COVID extremely didn’t end. It’s still here and still fucking people up long term. We all just decided that either 1) we didn’t care or 2) the reduced risk associated with being vaccinated was good enough.

I’m pro gun and that’s a laughably stupid idea for about a million reasons.

The funny part is that at first glance the FBI looks dumb, but the problem is that some criminals are idiots.

In my opinion, we shouldn’t waste time in the courts arguing over whether a claim or offer made by an algorithm is considered reasonable or not. If you want to blindly rely on the technology, you have to be responsible for its output. Keep it simple and let the corporations (and the people making agreements with a chatbot) shoulder the risk and responsibility.

It is my opinion that a company with uses a generative or analytical AI must be held legally responsible for its output.

I’ve been playing Open RCT2, I’m working through every scenario. The game is way easier now that I’m not eight years old and I’ve watched a view videos that talk about the mechanics of the game.
