So, just plonk an atomic clock on the moon and call that moon time. Ocasionally synchronize moon time with UTC.
You say that as a joke but I’m sure there is probably some camgirl is out there selling their “slightly used” toys for more than they bought them for.
Thank you for clarifying because I was expecting a “BOFA dez nutz” joke.
This is a bit of a side note but I remembered you were looking for things to do while you were in MN a while back. If you still are, the National Eagle Center is always fun to visit. It’s in Wabasha which is almost exactly an hour drive from Rochester. It’s also probably a better place to pick up souvenirs.
I’m sure enough people bring in electronics filled with roaches or bed bugs that they no longer take any chance when they see even one bug.
I only do the refrigeration side of things and I don’t do residential stuff so I’m not sure on exact pricing. Pricing will also vary greatly depending on the exact area. For example in my area we have a high enough ground water level that open loop geothermal is easy and that is the cheapest/easiest method of geothermal. The other types will also vary in cost depending on soil type and moisture content because that will partially dictate how big of a ground loop you need. The amount of area you have for a ground loop will also be a big factor because if you don’t have enough yard area for a horizontal loop then you need to use a vertical loop which can be heniously expensive.
As far as payback goes they are far more expensive to install regardless of the type but the ground loop (assuming closed loop system) can easily last over 50 years and that is the most expensive part of the whole system by a large margin. Out of the $25,000 you mentioned I would bet that about $20,000 of that was just for the ground loop. The rest of the system is going to be more durable as well due to not being outdoors. The expected lifespan of the other components is 20 years and they can easily last far longer than that. So the energy savings is only part of the cost savings. The other part is that geothermal heat pumps need practically no maintenance and break down far more rarely than any other conventional heating or cooling solution. With how long they last and how durable they are a geothermal heat pump can probably pay itself off just with avoided service calls.
In colder areas like that the heat pumps are usually ground source so the ambient air temperature doesn’t change the performance much.
BBB is a scam. Companies just buy their scores on there.
Or Oscar Meyer which is a hotdog.
How often do you animals just leave the fridge standing open?
Also the notion that sales is the most important department in corporate since they, well, bring in the sales.
The sales people can’t sell anything without the people who make the actual equipment. On the other hand things still sell without sales people. One of the largest contracts at my company was a company that reached out to us unprompted.
Doigenes walks in in a feather boa.
That’s the point though. The address is randomized per connection specifically so the device can’t be identified. It’s to prevent tracking, blocking, or assigning, anything based on mac address without the device owners knowledge. Every time your phone connects the network has to treat it like a new device. If it was randomized per network that would defeat the point.
I personally can’t think of any reason you would need a static IP on your phone but if you did then you should know enough to know how to turn off the randomized mac address. You can even change the setting per network so if you need a static ip at home then you just set your phone to use a static mac address on your home network and continue using a randomized one on every other network.
So, I don’t know if it’s still an issue but I know the whole land yacht thing started because of emissions standards. The US used to (they might still) set emissions standards based on wheel base rather than vehicle type. The larger the wheel base the looser the emissions standards. The thought was that vehicles that needed a larger wheelbase like large work trucks would always have higher emissions so they wanted to take that into account. But what actually happened is manufacturers just started making larger and larger vehicles to take advantage of the more lax emissions standards.
I think the wheelbase based emissions standards thing has been fixed now, but I don’t know where I heard that so it might even still be a thing.
precision flathead screwdriver
Ah yes. Just like my precision printer adjustment mallet.
I don’t have the link but the game is “Cataclysm:Dark days ahead” if you wana look through their github. They have some gems in the issue tracker.
Another one of my favorite issues from there was someone posted an issue where timed explosives didn’t go off when placed in pet backpacks. One of the lead devs basically responded “Yes, I guess that’s a bug, but I’m also very disapointed in you all.”
Sometimes creating a different problem solves the problem though.
Odds are you can just send a “null” key instead of “.” And it will still work just as well without actually typing anything. I used to do the same thing to keep an application active at my old job. It was nice because even when it was active I could still use the computer like normal without stopping the script.
It probably contains some form of butyl rubber. The same stuff is used on cheap tool grips and if you get the wrong solvent on it then it becomes instantly and permanently sticky. I imagine it does the same thing with enough age as well.
