Downvote me into oblivion but Kagi ain’t shit. It’s a glorified Google frontend. The author is right that the web is filled with AI generated articles and fake reviews and lists but Kagi is not immune to this enshittification.
I even tried the same query the author was bitching about. Here is Kagi’s first two links for top 10 air purifiers. Notice how the first result is a BS website called top10.com and the second one is one of the “fake review” websites .
And here is Google’s. First result is Wirecutter, and this might be subjective but I trust Wirecutter reviews on most things.
Rest of the Google results are exactly what the author was mentioning. But Kagi was no different.
So $10/month to get the same shit? No thank you. I agree that Google turned to shit compared to what it was but it is still the best search engine out there. Now if the article was about privacy concerns then they would have a point. Which is what Kagi is all about anyway. So let’s stop the fucking act.
Yeah but self hosting comes with a lot of risks. You need to spend time to back up to another hard drive every now and then otherwise you’re just risking your precious memories. I tried out immich (which is amazing btw, kudos to the dev) but it just doesn’t feel dependable for the long term.
Sorry but their prices are out of this world.
$50 a year for 100 gigs? Holy shit
Meh. I mean it’s not surprising. A lot of people including open source enthusiasts stuck with reddit despite everything.
Not really. Even Amazon, Apple and Google have been investing in assistants less and less. They have had massive lay offs from voice assistant teams.

"But it’s not clear whether they are money-making opportunities. Reports say most interactions are relatively simple tasks like checking the weather, or playing music.
More broadly, according to one report, over the past three years voice assistant use has been falling and another report suggests that the adoption of smart speakers is slowing."
So no it’s not just “my opinion”. But sure just down vote and fuck off.
There is no reason why it should not exist other than the fact that there really is no interest. Except for a few uses here and there (driving for example), voice assistants are just gimmicks.

Yeah they released a tool almost immediately after they shut it down. I have not used them until now because I got a steam deck with all the Stadia refunds and I was gaming on that. I used them today because we hooked the steam deck up on the TV.
It’s my favorite controller. I just love the size and feel. And like I said it brings back the Stadia vibe.
Any kind of USB-c dongle. I bought one on Amazon that’s like $20. It had HDMI and two USB inputs. There’s a USB-c input on the dongle as well and I plug in the charger on there.
Quick edit: I went on my Amazon account and found the one I bought. You can find it below but like I said basically any kind of USB-c dongle will work. You can get a fancier one if you want but I have not had any issues with this one.

The developer for Moshidon (for Mastodon) is rebuilding the app based on the newest official app. Really looking forward to it because the official app lacks a lot of features
Yeah. Twitter survived all the backlash but everyone is looking for a way out. That’s why threads gained so much traction on day one. Unfortunately they were missing a lot of key features (like hashtags for example) for people to stick around.
They should have implemented activity pub support from day 1. They rushed the roll out because they wanted to make us of Twitter’s (one of many) fuck ups but failed to keep users.
I’m sorry mate but it’ll only get worse and worse.
I didn’t change any settings. fresh account
