To OPs defense, i didn’t put 1 and 1 together until you spelled it out either. Wouldn’t have crossed my mind that the smell in an enclosed space would bother you.
Regardless of the rest i hope your daughter enjoyed her treat!

In my career i have gone from Systems Engineer to professional services to Profesional services team lead to Senior Systems administrator to now just Systems administrator. All doing basically the same IT stuff at progressively higher levels other than the team lead part.
When i was looking for my last job i applied for a remote admin job and experienced exactly what you described. I was on the third interview and was asked when i was going to move to the area and if i wanted a relocation allowance as part of the offer. Uhh what? To them a remote admin was an administrator that went to remote sites. What a waste of my time
Windows server license and CALs… don’t forget that extra little cost just because from MS
Agreed. If your employer is happy with your work they probably wouldn’t be using this software.
The problem is you can’t/shouldn’t install the software on a single person’s computer as that is targeting them and against several labor laws.
Moral of my story, don’t be the reason someone needs to install this type of monitoring/software.
I mean… you should be working right? That is what you are getting paid by the company to do. If you are able to get your job done in less than the time/activity needed by the software that’s another issue.
If you are working from home you are still supposed to be working that is your agreement with your employer. Sure do the bare minimum if you want, but you still need to get your job done.
It’s the people that are taking advantage of the work from home that risk it for the rest of us actually working from home.
That’s what gets me on these things. If you want to be a dick and make sure your car isn’t hit go park or in the boonis! Nobody goes out there, don’t have to worry about carts, take as many spots as you want! Shoot for a record of you want try to get 6! But why tf are you doing it in close parking spots?
I would rather not assume someone is just out to troll. I’m sure in a life-threatening circumstance, they could do any of the lines you listed.
But if they don’t have to and could just pay a little more for someone delivering it oh well. Will they pay through the nose for the convenience? Sure. Is it still a lot of money for the convenience? Yes.
Given how active flying squid is I don’t think he is just out here intentionally trolling. I could be wrong.
