I completely disagree with the sentiment here. My 40s have been great because they marked the point in my life when I finally lost my last fuck to give.
The freedom that provides is worth not being able to drink the way I used to in my 30s. Enjoy that achievement.

I mean. I like seeing merch from my favorite creators and sometimes I buy it. T-shirts are cool. It’s easier for me to know what’s available if there are thumbnails large enough for me to actually see the product.

They actually do need to fly nose first, believe it or not! The warp bubble created by the nacelle has a front side and a back side. Essentially it bunches up space behind the ship and thins it out in front of the ship, turning space itself into a sort of wave that the ship surfs forward on.

I’m really sorry. Just to offer a little hope, a friend of mine at church was beset with almost daily migraines when she hit retirement age, if you can believe that. Several years of trying everything, and a hail Mary pass trying amitriptyline of all things finally calmed them down. She still has mild symptoms when weather fronts roll through, but it’s much improved.
I really hope you find something that works well for you. Migraines suck.

People’s legs being in that position would negate what is considered a safe evacuation. Modern regulations stipulate that you have 90 seconds to get everyone off the plane safely with 50% of the emergency exits blocked. That’s why you’re required to be seated completely upright with your feet on the floor during takeoff and landing. So you can stand up immediately if anything goes wrong and you need to evacuate.
This accident is one of the reasons why that rule exists. We forget these things:
“It was then, just 90 seconds after the plane came to a stop, that the entire passenger cabin exploded in flame. An unstoppable wall of fire swept forward from the back of the plane, consuming everything in its path, painting every window in brilliant orange. Firefighters tried to fight it, but there was nothing they could do. Captain Cameron, who jumped from the window just seconds before the explosion, would be the last to leave the plane alive.”
You don’t design for the flight; you design for the evacuation. We learned that the hard way decades ago. This looks like it forgot all those lessons paid for by people’s lives.
No TNG was definitely a full ensemble cast. I think people say that because Data is an obvious analog of Spock. But if this analogy is to hold, who is McCoy? Riker? Crusher? It doesn’t make sense.
I think they just held onto the TOS traditions of strong captain as the lead with a Spock-like character and diverse remaining cast. But TNG had more space to work with the non-lead actors than TOS did partially because it had TOS’s world building as a foundation.
