I was given a chance to talk to a bunch of high schoolers about volunteering at volunteer healthcare clinic.

Most highschoolers ignored me. They had no idea what healthcare is. They think it is free.

They feel invincible, as expected.

I stressed the importance of volunteering because there are many people are uninsured and underinsured.

One highschooler made a snide comment, “Everyone has insurance. Our family have Medicaid. It is free.”

I hope life will treat her kindly.

Unfortunately, many companies don’t care about PR anymore. In the past, some would try to appear “we are family” to retain employees. Now it is everyone for themselves.
