I don’t see the use case for a RaspberryPi 5 unless you plan on using the pins.
You can buy a more powerful Mini PC for 90€ from AliExpress
To get a Pi5 to the same specs It’ll cost you double if not more
Thanks, this is very useful to know
Myself and my family will be using it to replace Microsoft/Google products
Excel, Google docs, word, pdf etc.
OnlyOffice claim to be Open Source https://github.com/ONLYOFFICE Is that just a deception? and their core code is closed source?
If that’s the case I’m likely going with NextCloud Office, one of the reasons I’m hosting nextcloud etc. is to move away from proprietary software and to OpenSource
Thanks this is the kind of stuff I like to hear.
Yea I’m going to start over with Nextcloud AIO on a LXC.
Thank you, this is a solid answer.
I was hoping to find some kind of guide or at least reassurance that I’m going down the right path. It looks like it

I fixed the link.
I disabled talk for now, I still get the same amount of warnings.
I’ve setup Nextcloud on Hetzner, and have ordered a mini PC to run Immich and experiment with.
Still trying to decide on a good cheap email host that I can also move my family on to eventually.
Thank you this is very useful, and sounds like a good start. I’ll look into this. Cash isn’t that tight, so I’ll prioritise it being compact and a bit more future proof over doing it cheaply
Synology aren’t Open-Source so that’s a deal breaker for me.
One of the main reasons I’m getting into homelabs etc. Is to take back control of my software and data.
If Synology decides to lock away features behind a pay wall they can.
TrueNAS sounds like the way to go for me, I’m just clueless what hardware would best fit my needs.
Fire
Currently I’m just using CF as a tunnel so that I can reach my server through eg. immich.mydomain.com anywhere in the world. The issue I’m running into is Large files fail (they have file size limits)
This is the way
Occam’s razor disproves this to me.
It’s more likely that meta was testing censorship, but people caught on.
Than #johnOliver #bernieSanders #Democrat #proChoice etc. All being banned, but none of the conserve hashtags
I don’t have any sources for you. But I saw it with my own eyes and took screenshots.
Sorry to link to reddit, but here’s a post with 90k up votes, and comments filled with people experiencing the same.
While being able to search #republican and #prolife
This is such a dumb thing to say, you could also say that all news papers etc. Are private companies.
But if they’re collectively controlled by a few people or the government, and only publish certain things. That is 100% censorship
They’ve since fixed it, and called it a bug.
A bug that only effects democratic content…
I hope more people realise this.
If it’s not Open Source, I don’t want it
