This is exactly what I thought of haha. Absolute classic that everyone should watch at least once.

I understand the logic behind this, but the $80 price tag for a game that is forecast to sell incredibly well kind of undermines that thought. If they are using the absolutely absurd amounts of money they have made from GTA online to fund the game there would be no justification for the higher cost for this game in relation to other AAA titles. So this is purely driven by greed, and Rockstar is happy to increase profits and enrich their executives through predatory behavior.

We should not be making excuses for corporations that will happily embrace profit with no regard for morality or ethics.

They release games. Just shitty games and slowly. Doesn’t matter if they can minimize your options. If they control 50% of the market, it stops mattering if their games suck because the options are limited and they can control so much.

And I know there will always be indie devs, but the majority of gamers will buy whatever is marketed most heavily. It makes everything worse for everyone, but Microsoft doesn’t have to work as hard to be competitive.

You dont have to compete if you own the industry. That has been the Microsoft MO for decades.

It is super easy to attract more people as framers and construction in general. Pay them a wage/benefits that make the work attractive. If there aren’t enough people trained, then use your aging workforce and start a paid apprenticeship program. Voila you have a younger workforce trained to do the work. That cuts into profits though, so they would rather blame made up BS for housing issues.

Innovations like this entirely miss why housing is expensive and out of reach for most people. We have more housing than people already.

This doesn’t address corps like Blackrock buying up housing in bulk in order to dictate market prices. It doesnt address the wealthy buying up property as a way to avoid taxation on wealth even when they have little intention of using it. It doesn’t address legislation that prohibits high density housing or mixed use real estate. It doesn’t address plummeting buying power because wages have plateaued for decades while inflation keeps rocketing up.

So until that and more is addressed there is no construction innovation that will make the housing market more affordable.
