Why is doing literally nothing but adding cost a bad thing? 🤷♂️ they’re even selling on the same platform, it makes the actual-priced product harder to find or is just a full-on scam, pretending they sell higher quality products than actuality.

I haven’t personally used it, but my coworker said using Cursor with the newest Claude model is a gamechanger and he can’t go back anymore 🤷♂️ he hasn’t really liked anything outside of cursor yet
It’s not lazy. You just have no perspective.
Nah, fuck that, you’re just lazy and entitled. Obviously sometimes things come up, but why does everything have to ship in less than a week? Amazon doesn’t even have the best price on 95% of shit anymore, and hasn’t for years - ditching Amazon has saved me money on nearly every single item, I just have to wait slightly longer for them.
You can support nazis if you want - it’s not illegal, despite every rational perspective in the world. But don’t blame your support on bullshit like “I can’t think ahead more than two days.”
It’s literally not even hard, but yes you have to put some effort into it, and of course it isn’t convenient. You’ll probably save money, though - Amazon hasn’t had the best prices on 95% of items for many years now.
If you aren’t OK with being slightly inconvenienced, you can always keep supporting Nazis 🤷♂️
…you’re joking, right? Electing the convicted rapist, convicted fraudster, racist, sexist, wannabe dictator that literally tried to lead a coup four years ago didn’t tip you off?
Or, hear me out… carry it until you find one with room? If finding full trash cans “forces” you to litter, that says more about you being an entitled piece of shit than it does about anything else.
VS Code slow and bloated? Someone hasn’t been spending nearly enough time in IntelliJ
Only hours? lol then that’s fine
I’ve had delicious cookies from Dollar General. Bargain bin at Walmart bakery.
At least you pointed out your tastes at the end 😂
It’s all free software, so nobody cares because they don’t stand to gain any money from fixing it. #CapitalismRocks
I’d like to not head my head when standing up.
…what are you hitting your head on? I’m confused.
Not OP, but just to serve as another data point: mostly just exhaustion. I am a full-time software developer, so I just really don’t want to deal with configurations and set up complex systems at home. That’s why I haven’t gotten into any smart-home stuff, either - I just don’t have the bandwidth to deal with the issues that come along with the space.
The only outrage I see is in your comment 🙄
Yeah, at this point “Engineer” and “Developer” are 100% synonymous in the industry.
Ehhhh, depends on how your titles work, and I would argue that’s at least a little odd. Most senior engineers I know are ~50/50 code/oversight, at worst. Once you get to Principal or Staff, though, you’re lucky if you write 50 loc/week.
Senior rarely translates to something like architect anymore, it’s at least a level or two up from there.
If you don’t have strong opinions one way or the other, then docker is the easy answer. Way, way more widespread, which generally tends to mean better docs, more guides and examples, more tooling and open-source support…
Some real old-man-yells-at-cloud vibes coming from this comment
You’d have to run a few tests to figure out how long it takes to start and open the file, though - there will definitely be a delay
That’s a good way for their emails to all get marked as scams. They think they’re being slick, but are actually destroying their marketing campaign.
Oh god, thanks for that fucking PTSD bomb
